Using This Website With Assistive Technology

Our Commitment

Pro Carpet Steamer wants every customer to be able to book a cleaning, read our prices and reach us, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We treat an accessibility barrier on this website the same way we treat a spot we missed on a carpet. Tell us and we come back and fix it.

The Standard We Build To

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the target we build and test against. It is not a certification, and this page does not claim one. No third party has audited or certified this website, and we will not say otherwise. If that changes we will name the auditor and the date here.

What We Have Put In Place

  • Accessibility toolbar on every page, reachable from the button at the bottom left. It offers high contrast, monochrome, saturation control, text size and spacing, a reading guide, a reading mask, larger cursors, motion reduction and image hiding.
  • One light theme, always. The site does not switch to a dark palette on its own and does not offer a theme toggle, so the contrast you see is the contrast we test.
  • Page translation into fifteen languages from the button at the bottom right.
  • Semantic structure: one main heading per page, landmark regions and real list and heading markup, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
  • Text alternatives on images that carry meaning, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
  • Phone and email booking as a full alternative to every online form, on every page.

Known Issues We Are Working On

An internal review of this website on September 11, 2026 found the following, re-checked in a real browser the same evening. We are listing them because you deserve to know before you hit them, not after. This is what we currently know about; it is not a guarantee that nothing else is wrong.

  • The online booking control cannot yet be reached with the Tab key alone. Until it can, please book by phone or email using the details below and you will get the same service and the same price.
  • The calendar in the booking flow announces each date as a button with its date, but the grid itself is not yet announced as a calendar, and changing month is not read out.
  • The service detail pop-up does not yet identify itself as a dialog, does not move keyboard focus into itself, and does not close with the Escape key.

Each of these is on our fix list. This page will be updated as they are closed, and we will not add a compliance badge to this website until they are.
